CMEC visits Kuwait

On 2-5 Dec CMEC took a delegation of MPs and Peers to Kuwait. During a packed two days, delegates met His Highness the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah IV bin Ahmad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The delegation included Baroness Morris of Bolton, OBE DL, CMEC Chairman, The Rt Hon The Lord Fowler PC, Dr Philip Lee MP, CMEC Vice Chairman and Energy Select Committee Member, Nick De Bois MP, Dr Mohammed Abdel Haq, Chairman of CMEC Advisory Board and Director of CMEC Leo Docherty.

After meeting with the British Ambassador Frank Baker, delegates met with students at the British Council, visited the British School and had dinner and a panel discussion and  with the British Business Forum. On Sunday, as well as having the honour of an audience with His Highness the Emir, the delegation met with Mr Bader M Al Sa’ad, Managing Director of the Kuwait Investment Authority, Sheikh Salem Al Sabah, the Governor of the Central Bank, and Jassem Al-Kharafi, Speaker of Kuwait National Assembly, and the Vice Chairman of the Kuwait Capital Markets Authority, Dr Mahdy Al-Jazzaf. They ended the trip with a dinner with Kuwaiti businessmen which was kindly sponsored by Rosette Merchant Bank.
