Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, during a speech this morning at the 38th Regular session at the UN Human Rights Council, called for recognition of human rights violations in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories by all parties, stating that an agenda item focused solely on Israel would be 'disproportionate and damaging to the cause for peace.'
He also stated that the UK would likely vote against all resolutions introduced under agenda Item 7 of the UN HRC which highlights Israel's human rights violations in the occupied territories, if all parties were not made accountable. He reiterated that the UK was committed to securing a peaceful resolution to the conflict, with a strong appreciation and value for the UN Human Rights Council.
