CMEC hosted a roundtable event last night in collaboration with the University of Oxford Middle East Centre. The event was titled: Order & Chaos in the Middle East: What role can the West play?
A panel including Professor Eugene Rogan (Director of the Middle East Centre at St Antony's College, Oxford), Crispin Blunt MP (Chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee) and Kwasi Kwarteng MP (CMEC Vice Chairman) engaged in a wide ranging discussion of the current geopolitical situation across the Middle East. They considered likely US foreign policy in the Trump era, the nature of Russia’s involvement in the region, Britain’s role going forward, the future of the Iran Deal, and the situation in Libya and Egypt.
The event was chaired by CMEC Director Leo Docherty
