The future of Iran - Nicholas Hopton and Sir John Jenkins KCMG LVO

UK former ambassadors, Nicholas Hopton and Sir John Jenkins KCMG LVO discuss the ongoing killing of protesters, the future of Iran, its leadership, and its people.

They give their view on the situation in Iran at time of recording; of the protests in which the actual death-toll of protesters is still coming to light, of how Iran reached this position, and what the future may hold. Nicholas Hopton was UK Ambassador to Iran between 2016-2018, and also served as ambassador in Qatar, Yemen and Libya. He is currently the Director General of The Middle East Association. Sir John Jenkins KCMG LVO has served as ambassador in a number of MENA countries and beyond, including Saudi Arabia, Libya, Iraq, Syria, and as Consul General in Jerusalem. He is a leading analyst on regional geopolitics and policy. He has taken senior roles in major think tanks and academic institutions such as the International Institute for Strategic Studies, Yale University, Policy Exchange and Cambridge’s Centre for Geopolitics.
