Podcast: General Sir Richard Barrons on Conflict

CMEC Director Charlotte Leslie talks about global conflicts from Gaza to Ukraine to Sir Richard Barrons, one of the British Army's most distinguished former generals. He has served in a variety of different theatres from Iraq to Afghanistan. He has warned that Ukraine could face defeat by Russia and talks also about the impact the war in Gaza is having on international relations.

Sir Richard was Assistant Chief of the General Staff (2010) covering the Strategic Defence and Security Review and Defence Reform exercises before promoting to Lieutenant General (2011) and taking post as Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff (Military Strategy & Operations), the director of operations for UK armed forces. He assumed command of Joint Forces Command on promotion to General, 19 April 2013.
