CMEC Director, Charlotte Leslie, chairs the 'Women in Business' Panel at the Syria Britain Business Council's conference in Damascus, on 1st July 2026. On the panel are three highly successful businesses women: 

  • Alia Ayoub Agha, of Ayoub Agha Group:  a Syrian-British investment and economics professional who oversees her family office investments. Alongside her career, she's also a mother of two, and is a passionate advocate for lifelong learning and developing the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
     
  • Nadine Chaoui, Manager Chaoui Group, Chair of the Businesswomen Council of the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Federation: Nadine is Managing Director of Al-Inaya Drugstore and of her family's business, Chaoui & Co.  She chairs The Women's Business Committee at the Federation and Damascus Chamber of Commerce, helping create spaces where tradition and innovation can meet, and where women can play an active role in shaping Syria’s economic and social landscape.
     
  • Nazek Jandali, Vice Chairwoman of Jandali Group:  Nazek manages the group's business, bringing international experience in FMCG, luxury retail and food manufacturing to one of Syria's long-established family companies. Her career bridges multinational leadership with entrepreneurship and business innovation.

The Panel was part of the Syria Britain Buinsess Council's conference "Building A Diverse Economy", held in Damascus on 1st July 2026.
