UK TO BOOST AID FOR FRONTLINE RESPONDERS IN SUDAN

The Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, announced on Wednesday 15 April the UK’s commitment to support Sudan with £146 million in aid funding for the 2026–2027 financial year. The funding will help frontline aid workers deliver life-saving assistance across the country, especially in hard-to-reach areas.

As the conflict in Sudan enters its third year, key British international partners joined the Third International Sudan Conference in Berlin this week, which aimed to increase pressure on warring parties to halt hostilities, agree to a ceasefire, and pursue a long-term political solution through diplomatic channels.

The UK’s funding is expected to support millions affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis, reinforcing its commitment to international relief efforts.
